Conan O’Brien plans to reveal the name of his new late-night talk show Wednesday, he teased on Twitter Tuesday.

One name that likely won’t be in play: “Conan,” because a company called Conan Properties International owns the trademark. It has been using the title in connection with promoting the Conan the Barbarian films for decades. I was going to announce the name of my new show today, but my lawyers tell me 'The Return of Nanny McPhee' is taken.

After stepping down as Tonight Show host earlier this year, O’Brien negotiated with NBC to use his own name in the title of another show. Indeed, he’s referred to as just “Conan” in the first two promos of his show.

But while “Late Show” and “Tonight Show” are trademarked by NBC, he’d also be unlikely to use a name like “Conan Tonight” because it’s too similar to his TBS colleague George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight.”

Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart was on his way to Pawtucket the other day to throw out the first pitch for the PawSox game with the team’s Triple-A rival, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. But now he was stuck in traffic in Boston and wondering if he’d ever make it.

He’d been on the road an hour and 15 minutes and had just traveled from his home in Brookline to the Kennedy Library. Threatening skies didn’t help matters.

“I’m supposed to throw out the first pitch, if there’s a game, if I get there,” said Lockhart.

Lockhart was trying to whet the interest of fans for his return to Pawtucket with the Pops this weekend for a blowout concert at McCoy Stadium with Kenny Loggins, who will be making his Pops debut. The event is part of the ongoing Pawtucket Arts Festival.
